Ortom orders demolition of house his aides wife was rescued

Samuel Ortom, the Governor of Benue State has ordered the demolition of the house used by the kidnappers of Mrs. Ann Unenge, the abducted wife of the state Land and Survey commissioner.

The governor also ordered the arrest of the landlord of the house.

Ortom gave the order on Monday while speaking at the Police Headquarters, Makurdi, after the rescue of the commissioners.

It is worthy to note that the directive aligns with the Benue State Law on prohibition of abduction, hostage-taking/kidnapping, cultism and similar activities.

The wife of the commissioner was rescued around 12 pm on Monday by police officers. During the operation, three kidnappers were killed.

Governor Ortom commended the police officers for being professional in rescuing abducted victims without the need to pay any ransom.

He said the Benue government would keep supporting security agencies as they discharge their duties.

The governor also warned criminals still operating in the state and their collaborators that the law will catch up with them soon.
