Another journalist dies in Kogi
Tragedy again struck media practitioners in Kogi State as the Head of Editorial, News and Current Affairs Department, Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, Mrs. Lucy Damian died.

Mrs Damian died in the early hours of Tuesday in Abuja.

DAILY POST gathered that late Damian celebrated her 50th birthday two weeks ago.

Her death comes a few months after two staff members of the Nigeria Television Authority, NTA, in Kogi, Abdulazeez Ajinomo and Mr Shola Adewuyi, lost their lives.

Before her demise, Mrs Damian was an ex-official of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, in the state.

Meanwhile, prominent journalists in the state have expressed shock over the sudden demise of the veteran journalist.

The executive members of the Nigeria Union of Journalist, NUJ, Kogi State Chapter, led by Adeiza Momoh on Tuesday morning paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased.

He said late Mrs Damian would be greatly missed for her immense contribution towards promoting the journalism profession in the state.

The immediate past chairman of NUJ, Comrade Ali Atabor, described the deceased as a complete woman who is honest and has used her position to impact the younger ones in the country.

Damian’s colleague, Ernest Zhokwo, described her as an outstanding journalist who relates with colleagues with all liberality.

He consoled the family, urging them to bear the irreplaceable loss adding that they should understand the fact that death is an end for all mortals.

Late Mrs Damian joined the Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation when the state was still under Benue State.
